Plug in Hybrids or sometimes abbreviated to PHEV's are a happy medium between the full electric vehicles and vehicles powered by the conventional petrol and diesel vehicles.

PHEV's have a small battery pack (compared to Fully electric vehicles) that can be used to either add power to the internal combustion engine to reduce MPG or in some modes can be used solely to power the vehicle on its own for small distances to reduce emissions especially within towns and cities.

Most manufacturers now have at least one model within their range available as a plug in hybrid. Due to the increased competition and enhanced battery technologies along with the pressure on manufacturers to reduce the emissions being produced by their vehicles the electric ranges that can be achieved from these small battery packs are so good that you could carry out most if not all of your daily driving/commuting in fully electric mode but still have the reassurance that you have the engine there if you need extra range or if you need to overtake. In essense the PHEV is the sweetspot for a lot of people especially those who do make longer journeys on motorways and dual carriageways.

You can find PHEV's in all classes of vehicle now in 2021 with most marques, Family Hatchbacks and SUV's to City cars and executive saloons and even LCV's are getting in on the action for the commercial market.

You can charge PHEV vehicles at motorway service stations, at the workplace and at home with a dedicated wall unit. Contact us nor for more details.

The range of some of the most popular vehicles in their class are below but please don't hesitate to contact us with your vehicle requirements for us to find the right PHEV for you and details of their electric range.
