When it comes to electric vehicles the burning questions are how far can I go on a charge ? Will i be able to make use of the vehicle to its full potential or do I have to constantly watch the range computer and keep the heater off?

The early incarnations of electric vehicles did have a range that was a lot lower than their petrol & diesel counterparts however over the last 5 years or so the battery technology has come on leaps and bounds and the range is increasing all the time.

One thing that you have to consider when looking at and choosing an electric vehicle is that the quoted range from the manufacturer is called the WLTP mileage. This is the mileage that is carried out within lab tests and perfect running conditions not when it is -2C and raining for example. The real world range can vary due to many factors including driving style, weather, temperature, type of journeys undertaken etc, Please contact us and we can explain how these factors can affect the range of the models you are interested in.

As you can see from the tables below the number of electric vehicles has increased dramatically and you can find an electric vehicle in every class by most manufacturers from City Cars to Family hatchbacks, Saloons to SUV's and even Light Commercial Vehicles. The ranges of these vehicles are increasing and can easily cover daily commutes or a weeks worth of driving. Also with some models even a long weekend away at the other end of the country is easily achievable and with the motorway charging network it makes those breaks feel worthwhile when you top up the charge with a coffee.
